How WASSCE Aggregate is Calculated for Ghanaian Universities
Ghanaian universities use your best 3 core subjects (usually English, Mathematics, and Science) plus your best 3 elective subjects to determine your cutoff/aggregate score. Lower scores are better for admission.
Quick Steps
- Pick your best 3 core subject grades (English, Maths, Science).
 - Pick your best 3 elective subject grades.
 - Add the points for these 6 subjects. That’s your aggregate.

                        Tip: The lower your aggregate, the better your chances for competitive programs.

                Example
- Core English: B3 (3 points)
 - Core Maths: C4 (4 points)
 - Integrated Science: B2 (2 points)
 - Elective Physics: A1 (1 point)
 - Elective Chemistry: B3 (3 points)
 - Elective Biology: C6 (6 points)

Aggregate = 3 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 6 = 19
